I was recently made redundant and had no real idea what to do next. For the job I had, the work was specialised and the skills I had gathered could not be easily transferred to any other career. After sending many application forms off with few replies, a friend suggested becoming a driving instructor. I instantly liked the idea and started to look for a local training provider. I finally came in to contact with TDIT and right from the start I knew what was required and the best way to go about it. It was harder than I first thought, but thanks to the patient and thorough training I successfully passed each part. I’m now fully qualified and with the help from the priceless marketing, I’m working full time as an independent ADI.

I’d just like to thank you so much TDIT. I was so nervous when I first started, as this was my first of any type of study since leaving school. I didn’t know if I could fit the training around my kids. But with them both being at school now and the flexi training from TDIT, I’m now a qualified ADI.. “Wahoo”. The theory part one was made easy with the study guide from TDIT and the 1 2 1 mock tests, which pointed out my weak points. I past the theory first time. Then after some training and lots of practice, I passed my part 2 driving. Part three I passed the second attempt. I first found keeping talking the hardest and ran out of things to say. I persevered using all the knowledge I was taught and with the commentary driving technique, I realised I had the knowledge to teach and relaxed. Now working while my kids are at school and one day at the weekend. The whole course has been great. It has filled me with confidence and brought me out of my shell.

When working at a local primary school I found myself with spare time in the afternoons, weekends and in need of overtime. When looking for a possible second income, I came across a become a driving instructor ad. At first I thought it would take way too long to train, if I only had time to train at weekends. After my initial meeting, I realised TDIT would train me in the evenings and weekends, speeding up the process. Parts 1 and 2 were great, I had my training in the afternoons and practiced on the weekend. Part three however was a lot to take in so I decided to spread this out over multiple weekends so I could study what I had learnt throughout the week. This method worked and thankfully I passed all three parts first time. I now work both at school, and instruct 2 hours in the afternoon / evening, 3 days a week and 4 lessons on a Saturday morning. This is just the extra income I needed, during the current financial climate. Thanks again TDIT and I’ll be sure to recommend.
